The Hebrew word for souls is ne fesh now the spirit in man is the candle of YAHUWAH (the lord) now normally that word spirit in Hebrew is Ruwach but in this verse it’s the Ne Shama I believe the NeShama is the Hebrew word for nous as the NeShama gives us out thoughts it’s the light inside us it’s the awareness it’s how ALahym (god) communicates with us by his Qadash ruwach (Holy Spirit)
This is an excellent overview of the term ”nous”. I’ve been reading the Philokalia for some time and don’t really care for the English word ”intellect” as it has certain modern cultural connotations. Thanks for this talk- I am sure I will re-listen to it several times.

This is an excellent overview of the term ”nous”. I’ve been reading the Philokalia for some time and don’t really care for the English word ”intellect” as it has certain modern cultural connotations. Thanks for this talk- I am sure I will re-listen to it several times.
